A Reintroduction: Rooted, Rising, and Real

Getting to Know Erika Cain

Hello, beautiful souls—

Whether you’ve been flowing beside me for years or just wandered into this little corner of the universe, welcome. I’m Erika Cain—yoga teacher, retreat facilitator, lifelong student, and founder of Feather and Stone Yoga here in Sarasota, Florida.

Feather and Stone began as a whisper—an invitation to honor life’s dualities: the soft and the strong, the grounded and the expansive, the grief and the grace. It’s become a sanctuary not just for movement, but for transformation. A place where the breath slows, the nervous system exhales, and the soul remembers who it came here to be.

But behind the offerings and the classes is a human being—me.

So here’s a little reintroduction, not just of what I do, but who I am.

There are parts of my story that live quietly beneath the surface—chapters shaped by grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, and the relentless loops of OCD. I’ve known what it is to feel lost in the dark. But I’ve also learned how to light a match with trembling hands. Yoga didn’t save me—but it gave me some tools to save myself. Breath by breath, I chose to stay. To rise. To rebuild. Resilience, I’ve learned, is not about never breaking—it’s about returning to yourself, again and again, softer and stronger each time.

Once Upon a Time…
I grew up in the circus—literally (sixth generation and unwaveringly proud of my family’s legacy). I learned early that life is equal parts spectacle and stillness. That discipline, repetition, and resilience are sacred. That performing isn’t pretending—it’s offering your whole heart, over and over again.

That background shaped everything: how I teach, how I hold space, how I meet the unknown with a steady breath and a whisper of wonder—like a magician sharing meaning from mystery, trusting that what’s unseen is often the most real.

The Practice Behind the Practice
I teach yoga through the lens of science and spirit. My classes are rooted in anatomy, neuroscience, and ancient wisdom, blended with a deep reverence for the nervous system and the stories our bodies hold.

Whether we’re moving through an energizing flow, sinking into restorative stillness, or exploring breathwork that calms the storm within—my mission is to help you feel better in your body and safer in your skin.

Beyond the Mat
One passion of mine is to guide retreats in sacred, wild places—not to escape life, but to remember what matters. I collaborate with healers, animal sanctuaries, sound therapists, and wellness creatives to bring heart-centered, transformative experiences to this world.

All because I believe in magic. The kind that lives in honest conversation. In shared stillness. In watching someone reconnect with their own light.

A Few Things You Might Not Know

  • My dog Luna is my soul companion and spiritual sidekick (animals remind me that wisdom can be playful).
  • Life is lived in chapters, I loved the part of my story where I flew airplanes—chasing clouds and quiet from above.
  • I grew up performing magic and illusions with my family—life was full of rhinestones and sequins, but I hung up the costumes for comfy clothes these days.
  • Celebrate is my 2025 Mantra—because joy is revolutionary!

So, if you’re still here—thank you. For showing up, for trusting me, and for allowing me to keep growing right alongside you. My path has not been linear, but it’s been rich. And I’m still just getting started.

Whether you’re seeking community, breath, movement, or a little sacred pause—I’m here.

With gratitude and grounded joy,
Erika
